High School Graduation Sunday – May 3

Graduating from high school is a significant milestone, and Resurrection wants to celebrate the Class of 2026 with you. On Sunday, May 3, all 2026 high school graduates are invited to be recognized during worship at the time and location they normally attend. When you register, submit a current photo and a short bio so graduates can be honored with a display outside the worship venue that day. Graduates and parents are also invited to a special celebration at their location following worship, with a short program, refreshments, and a gift. Every location is doing something a little different, so be sure to check the details for yours when you register. You can find all the details and sign up using the button below.

May Blood Drives

For more than 30 years, Resurrection has been the Kansas City area’s top blood drive location, and this May, we’re doing it again. A single donation takes about an hour of your time and can help up to three patients in critical need. Before you give, you’ll receive a brief health screening, and thanks to expanded eligibility guidelines, more people than ever are able to participate. This month, there’s an added bonus: six World Cup prize packages are up for grabs, each loaded with FIFA KC gear, including hats, scarves, a string backpack, koozie, and a pin. Drives will be held at multiple Resurrection locations throughout May, so there’s likely one near you. Reserve a time slot in advance to skip the wait or simply walk in when it works for you.

Church Conference – May 5

A Church Conference will be held on Tuesday, May 5, from 6 to 6:45 pm in Room B252 (Leawood) to vote upon our Staff Parish Relations Committee’s recommendation of church members as candidates for pastoral ministry in the United Methodist Church. The Church Conference will also vote upon our Staff Parish Relations Committee’s recommendation regarding pastoral compensation for the coming year. Anyone is welcome to attend; however, voting is limited to church members present in person. No registration is necessary. To attend via Zoom, use the link below. You will be able to watch the meeting, but voting isn’t available online. Click the “Ask a Question” button for more information.

Upcoming Immersion Trips

Join Pastor Robert Johnson for two powerful immersion trips that trace the sacred and sobering events shaping America’s journey toward justice. In March, explore Tulsa’s Greenwood District and the Osage Nation. In November, travel from Little Rock to Memphis, where ordinary people made extraordinary choices during the Civil Rights Movement. These aren’t tours—they’re pilgrimages designed to challenge and change us through guided reflection, prayer, and conversation, equipping us to love boldly and serve courageously today.

UPDATE: The Human Rights trip to Tulsa and the Osage Nation is now full.
