More than ever the world needs young people’s power and leadership to solve its greatest challenges. Every year we train, mentor, nurture and connect thousands of young people to use their youth power and lead change.
Restless Development is a globally connected, locally led network powering youth-led change.
For 40 years, we’ve supported young people to take on the world’s biggest challenges – from gender and sexual rights to education, livelihoods, democracy, and climate change.
The global network has now reached more than 10 million young people around the world, with countless stories of change. From influencing the Sustainable Development Goals, leading community initiatives for girls rights, youth entrepreneurship to community mobilization on health.
Whilst our approach is always context specific, the core model is always the same: we shift power and resources directly to young people, equipping them with leadership skills, and connecting them with their peers and decision makers to drive long-term change.
We have built and host a Youth Collective, a network of 5,000 youth-led organisations and shifted £6 million directly to young leaders, accelerating the scale and depth of our impact.

What began in 1985 as a small UK charity has grown into a global network across Africa, Asia and the UK – supporting young leaders in countries like Zambia, Sierra Leone and India.
