Solar energy is the conversion of radiant light from the Sun into usable forms of energy. To capture solar energy, we use solar panels made of special materials called semiconductors. When sunlight reaches the Earth’s surface, the solar panels absorb the light. The electricity produced by the solar panels is in a form called direct current (DC), which is then converted into alternating current (AC) electricity by a device called an inverter. This is the kind of electricity used in our homes and businesses.
Switching to solar power offers lower electricity bills, protection from fluctuating energy prices, and increased property value. Solar panels are a renewable, long-lasting energy source with minimal maintenance, and you can also benefit from tax deductions and incentives.
Solar panels typically have a lifespan of 25 to 30 years. They are designed to be durable and require minimal maintenance, ensuring reliable performance over their lifetime.
The cost of installing a solar power system varies based on the type and capacity.
