The Remote Reboot Utility ('RemBoot') is a software product which runs on Windows server using a dedicated combination of IP number and port. Upon authenticated request from a web browser, the utility *gracefully* reboots the computer. RemBoot makes sure that all programs that can exit cleanly do so, and after a configurable number of seconds, forces any non-responsive tasks to end. Once installed, RemBoot is controlled over HTTPS using any web browser. All you need is a connection to the Internet and your login details to reboot the computer. For virtual machines where you may want to remotely shut the machine down, RemBoot v4.5+ now includes a shutdown option for advanced users.
