Remote Manipulator System – Server by TektonIT is the host-side component of the RMS remote administration suite. Installed on Windows endpoints, it runs as a background service to enable secure, unattended remote access for IT administrators and help desk teams across local networks and the Internet. When paired with the RMS Viewer, it supports full desktop control or view-only sessions, fast file transfer, clipboard synchronization, text/voice chat, power management (shutdown/restart), and common system management tasks such as process and service control.
The Server component offers granular security controls, including password- or account-based authentication, per-feature permissions, session logging, and optional IP-based access restrictions. All connections are encrypted, and administrators can tailor policies to match organizational requirements. For streamlined rollout, it supports silent installation, auto-start on boot, centralized configuration, and connection methods that work behind NAT using an optional relay/ID service.
Typical use cases include remote support, routine maintenance, software deployment, and administration of distributed workstations and servers in corporate, education, and MSP environments.
