Why do you use WordPress and Duda for website development?
We chose WordPress and Duda for their versatility, user-friendliness, and robust features:

- Duda excels in speed, ease of use, and is particularly suited for organizations seeking simplicity.
Both platforms allow for responsive design, SEO optimization, ADA-compliance, and easy content management, which are crucial for modern websites.
How long does it typically take to design and launch a new website?
The timeline for a new website can vary based on its complexity and your team’s responsiveness. Generally:
- Simple websites: 4-6 weeks
- Medium complexity: 8-12 weeks
- Complex, custom sites: 12-16 weeks or more
We can provide a more accurate timeline after discussing your specific requirements and desired features.
How do you ensure our website aligns with our overall marketing strategy?

How do you incorporate SEO best practices in website design?
SEO is integral to our website design process. We incorporate best practices by:
- Ensuring proper site structure and navigation
- Optimizing page load speeds
- Creating SEO-friendly URLs
- Implementing proper heading structures (H1, H2, etc.)
- Optimizing images with alt tags
- Ensuring mobile responsiveness
- Setting up proper meta titles and descriptions

We also build the site with a content management system that allows for easy ongoing SEO optimization.
How does on-boarding work?
On-boarding is relatively easy and we only need a few items to get started:
- Access to your hosting account where the website lives.
- An account created for us in your WordPress website with Administrator privileges.
- After we have access, we’ll configure the necessary tools to monitor your website and that’s when the routine maintenance begins.
What are your hours of operation and response times?
Our US business hours are Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm MT. We answer requests as soon as possible and attempt to remedy issues within 1-2 business days.
For 24/7 support, we recommend hosting at WP Engine because they’re staffed with great round-the-clock live support and their hosting infrastructure is tuned for WordPress performance and security.
Can we cancel the maintenance contract at any time?
Certainly! We do not require a fixed amount of months for our monthly maintenance services and you can cancel at any time. If you cancel mid-month, you will be charged for that whole month, so give us a little heads up before cancelling to prevent that.

Do you offer refunds on your WordPress maintenance services?
We do not offer refunds. Plans are billed monthly and you can cancel at any time.

Why aren’t performance enhancements part of the Basecamp plan?
Performance enhancements are achieved via one or more plugins. These plugins are usually safe to run in most WordPress websites. However, they can cause unintended and difficult to debug issues which is why we need to treat them with extra care. Note: The extent to which performance improvements can be implemented is dependent on the individual website; some websites don’t play well with performance plugins, for instance.
Do you utilize a safe update system with visual verification?
The site is spot checked after updates. Testing the site in a staging environment and then redoing those same updates in production would increase costs.
How are off-schedule security updates handled?
Depending on severity of a security vulnerability in a plugin and WordPress along with the notice of that security vulnerability via third-party systems, we will take care of the update outside the default monthly update process.
Do you offer protection against contact form spam?
This is not included in the regular maintenance plan. We can help setup Google reCAPTCHA or implement a service like Akismet if the website has a subscription for such services.
Do you offer protection against unwanted bots/crawlers from accessing the site?
This is not included in the regular maintenance plan. The security measures we implement have the ability to mitigate some bots/crawlers and we can enable that functionality. A better defense is to use a security-minded hosting company like WP Engine, or services like Cloudflare’s bot protection.
