Alzheimer's disease (AD) is an incurable and insidiously progressive neurodegenerative disorder that is characterized by significant cognitive and behavioral impairment. It begins in the entorhinal cortex in the hippocampus and is the most common form of dementia. AD is the seventh leading cause of death worldwide, carrying with it a tremendous burden of disease.

Though the causes of AD are largely unknown, they are believed to be a combination of environmental and genetic risk factors that converge and over a period of decades, produce a pathology of AD and dementia. Familial forms exist as well. Stages of AD include early/mild, moderate, and late/severe.

How much do you know about moderate-stage AD? Test your knowledge with this quick quiz.
