“Between Two Rivers” is a collection of my personal writing since mid-2024: much of it poetry, some of it prose, still more of it somewhere in between. You might know this project under its previous names (“Re-entry,” “The Phoenix Tree Writes”), and a few of those strands still survive in its current incarnation. These days, I just follow whatever feeling surfaces, and if it’s intriguing enough, I write it down.
The “two rivers,” for the record, refer to any of the Hudson and East (in New York City, where I grew up); the Leie and Scheldt (in the city of Ghent, which inspired me to take up creative writing); and the Schuylkill and Delaware (in Philadelphia, where I live and work now).
If you want something more long-form and critical, check out my Substack, “Upon Further Review.” You can also find my published writing on various platforms: from academic journals, to The Chaos Section Poetry Project, to the Belgian newspaper De Morgen (Dutch, paywall).
With thanks for reading, and see you around,
Chris
