What To Expect in our Application Process

 

If You Find Programs Are Closed At The Moment –

    1. If you haven’t gone to the training programs page, go there first.
    2. Do not worry, they’re only temporarily closed.
    3. You can register your interest in the meantime.
    4. Registering your interest ensures you get a text and email about programs being open again.

If Applications Are Open –

    1. Click on the square of the training program you are interested in – click on the “Learn More” button.
    2. Get the details of the program on that page
    3. On the program page, you can click on the “Apply Today” button.
      • This will populate a form; this form is the application.

Once the Application is Filled Out –

    1. Once your application is filled out, you have to wait for someone from the RCWP team to send you a text and email asking you to RSVP to an info session.
    2. Please read that email carefully, as there are steps you need to follow to fully RSVP to the info session.
    3. Attending the info session is mandatory. In accordance with, our zero-excuse policy, failure to attend your confirmed info session date – without prior communication- will result in your withdrawal from the application process for this program cycle.
    4. Once you RSVP, which is filling out another questionnaire, you will receive a follow-up email giving you all the details of the info session you just chose, like what you will need, location, times, aerial maps, etc.

Info Session –

    1. At the info session, you will learn about the team, some of the expectations, our history as an organization, what you get with us (some skills, certifications, etc.), and much more.
      • Please do not bring anyone with you into the info session. Contact the RCWP staff ahead of time if you may need an exception.
    2. Attendance of the entire info session is also necessary, unless you find that the program is not a good fit for you. You are free to leave whenever you’d like.
    3. After having attended the 3-hour info session, if you’d still like to be a part of the program, you will recommit on the post-info session questionnaire you will receive on the same night of the info session.

After the Info Session –

    1. You have the post-info session questionnaire to fill out.
      • If you fail to submit the post-info session questionnaire by the due date, you will be considered a withdrawal.
    2. After submitting the post-info session questionnaire, there’s going to be a wait time before you hear back from someone on the team. During this time, the committee is getting together to decide who moves on to the 1 on 1 interviews and who does not.
    3. You will receive a text and email whether you were chosen for 1 on 1 interviews or not.

1 on 1 interviews

    1. If you’ve been chosen for 1 on 1 interviews, you will get times and dates to select from, for you to come into our office and have your interview.
    2. During this interview, you’ll get the rest of the expectations from you as a student. We will also get more information about what your goals are and what your level of commitment is at the time.
    3. After this interview, if you are still interested. Your application package and all of the team’s notes will go to the committee, and they will decide whether you’ve been chosen to participate in the program or not.
    4. You will hear back from someone on the team regarding your status with either case.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not have a set time for any of the emails going out to candidates. For example: if you submitted your application today, you will get the info session invitation email 2 weeks from today (we do not do this). With us, you may sometimes get an email within a week; other times, it may come 3 or 4 weeks after submitting your questionnaires or forms. It all depends on how far out from the start of the program we are. Please just keep an eye on your emails,😊.
