Yes, I know, I'm a huge nerd, but that's not the point. I went trolling around deviant art, as I am wont to do, and I stumbled across the lovely artist peonylang, who happened to have a commission status of OPEN as well as decent rates. Which was great news for me.

Anyway, she unfortunately had to read the story (I know, poor girl, right?) before I was smart enough to give her a lame description of Leopold but I very much like what she came up with, even though I was completely unhelpful.

You know, I was thinking. I'd hate to share a name with someone who was famous, or infamous. Like today, for example. I saw someone with the last name Potter. Now as much as I love Harry Potter, I'd have to have that last time. You'd forever get people associating you with that.

Anyway, new icon! It took me like an hour to make it, that's why there's only one. I was watching basketball.

This is technically the last chapter. But, I wrote this...epilogue-ish thing, though I think it's sort of lame. However, if you all were to want to read the next part of the story, it's sort of a lead in. My point is, should I bother? If you're all tired of Leo, I'll move on to someone else.

I do apologize, my dears. I've been spending my time reading for my book club (and failing at it because I haven't liked any of the books yet), working, trying to convince myself I'm not completely useless, and applying to graduate school. I know I have an excuse EVERY TIME I'm late with a post, but there it goes.

Funny story, I contemplated using part of this story as my writing sample for my applications. I even went as far as to take all the Harry Potter bits out and make it sound normal. But when I reread it, I discovered that it totally lost its charm.

I apologized profusely to Leopold and promised never to mess with his world again.

I'm not neglecting you, I promise. I went away for my birthday last week, so that's why I've been MIA. Also, I received the sweetest review of this story and it reminded me of how much I really do love Leo and wish I created him for an original story. He's seriously the best character I've ever created, I'm so sad I sort of wasted him, in a way.

ANYWAY, I'm back from vacation tanner, one year older (none the wiser), slightly poorer, probably heavier (cruise ships and birthday cake'll do that to you) and I come with the gift of fanfiction. There aren't that many chapters left, I don't think. Would everyone want me to keep posting the fanfics I have laying around?

My computer decided it wanted to shed some of its outer casing for no particular reason. This increased my desire for a new one, even though I don't really need it.

In other news, the proof copy of my novel came today! I ran out in the rain to get it, opened it on the stairs dripping wet, and squealed. Needless to say, I received an odd look or two. Still, it is rather exciting to see one's name and work in print. Even my years as a journalist weren't this cool.

Anyway, I recently opened up the word document containing the second part of this story, so maybe I'll actually finish it. Wouldn't that be nerdy and terrific?

Now, with a newly taped up computer and my book by my side (which it probably won't leave my side for a while) I give you the next chapter in this comedic saga. Then I will go get some lunch. I can probably update this weekly now that NaNo is over.

I remember saying that when I got to the 10th chapter or so, I'd give you all extra Ackerley information. And here it is.

So, when I write a story, I get really into it. You should see all the notes I have for my trilogy. Timelines, family information, history of their world. Crazy.

Anyway, I did the same thing for my favorite made-up Ravenclaw, Leopold Ackerley. I created a family tree for his partially made up family. It may or may not help you with anything. I mean, you don't need to read it to understand the story. Maybe it'll help you understand my strange mind (I had a theme when coming up with all of their names. CAN YOU GUESS IT?!?!).

I was hoping that I would get to chapter 10 by Halloween so I could start posting my other story with a "monster" aspect to it. But I'll wait until the new year.
