Don’t miss the Opening Gala of the IXth RAMSGATE INTERNATIONAL FILM & TV FESTIVAL in aid of Veteran Mental Health Charity COMBAT STRESS.
The Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival has partnered with Combat Stress to celebrate the launch of the new in-person satellite event, THE FIGHT BACK FILM AWARDS to help ex-Forces Veterans through the medium of film-making.
Three short films made with Veterans will be shown before the screening of the feature film INVINCIBLE, directed by Emma Croft and starring Coronation Street actress Samantha Seager, Daniel Copeland and Laura Howard.

Television changed the world – but where did it truly begin?
Kent writer and filmmaker Ben Barton premieres his new short documentary, exploring a little-known chapter in the origins of television. Beginning with a forgotten plaque in Folkestone, it follows a trail left behind by television pioneer John Logie Baird and asks: where did the first-ever TV transmission actually take place? This special RIFF event also features early archival material, followed by a live Q&A with the director.
