Here's the video I did with Sucre! It's their first video and I think it came out really well. Here's hoping they do a cd release party in L.A. for the album and they decide to have a string quartet for that, too. :) I like nice, cool people.

Last week we spent a crazy amount of time in the studio, and part of that was for a full band interview (minus one who couldn't be there that day.)
You can hear the first part of the interview here: http://soundcloud.com/averywatts
You have to have a soundcloud account and subscribe to averywatts, but there will be more interview fun where this came from.

Should physical education in schools be mandatory, and why?
Yes.
It's good for students to get a chance to get out of seats and move around, not only for physical health, but also mental well-being. Playing sports can also - if done correctly - teach students about competition, playing fair, trying their best, how to be a good winner / good loser, and how to work together in teams. Phys Ed also gives everyone a chance to play, so even if you're not good enough to get on a team but you still like to play sports, you get a chance. There's more to school than sitting at a desk and learning things for tests. Besides, 90% of the time, gym was FUN. (That 10% not fun was the Physical Fitness Test. Hated that with a passion.)

Well, the time has come. Time for me to sell things that, even though I love them, will be of greater benefit to my bank account than my bookshelves.
This is a public post, so if you know of anyone who may want something you see here, please send them along!
RULES AND INFORMATION
1. 99% of the items are in LIKE NEW condition, which means they're used but I take REALLY good care of my stuff. Anything not in LIKE NEW condition will be noted as such.
2. Please comment on this post with which item(s) you are interested in. Everything will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. Prices do not include shipping. I will calculate shipping on an individual basis. Yes, I will ship internationally, combine items, and do the whole tracking and insurance thing if you specifically ask for it.
4. I accept and prefer paypal. You may send concealed cash at your own risk. I will only send items once they have been paid for.
5. My schedule is unpredictable, so please understand it may take a few days for me to reply or send items out. I apologize for the inconvenience.
6. This is the first time I'm selling stuff online (but I've bought a ton of it, so I know how it works!) so please forgive me if I make newbie mistakes.
Now, on to the stuff! ( LOTS of pictures behind the cutCollapse )
Thanks for looking!

In their heyday, The Beatles were the center of the pop universe. Many groups have been hailed as the next Beatles, but does pop music even have a center anymore? Who represents the core of pop music to you?
I have to answer this one.
The center of pop music today is the heads of the music industry. They are the ones who look at artists and say, "Oh, hey, this is kinda catching on! Let's saturate the market with all sorts of bands/artists who look and sound EXACTLY THE SAME!" Or, you could say it's Simon Cowell, since American Idol has been trying for the past I don't even know how long to find the next big thing.
But it pretty much all stems from the industry trying to quickly fix the lack of quality music being produced these days. There's a reason record sales are low - people are tired of the same old stuff - but to fix it the industry needs to cultivate new, upcoming talent. Talent that's NOT chosen by popular vote, mind you. And the industry as a whole needs to stop labeling everything. If an artist is worth listening to, the genre won't matter. It's quality that sells the most in the end, not popularity.
The Beatles were the center of the pop universe because they were something new. Yes, there was plenty of hype about them before they arrived in the States, but THEY were the ones making their music, working together with incredible producers. Their image created the hype, but their own talents continued it, which is why 50 years from now people will still be able to tell you who the Beatles were, but they'll be hard pressed to remember, say, The Jonas Brothers (who are really just Hanson with dark hair.)
