"am I the only one who feels uncomfortable?"

almost 3 months after 100 days my prince (백일의 낭군님) ended, I finally decided to binge-watch it in only 5 days.
why didn't I watch this drama sooner? look, I love kyungsoo so muchㅡI even support his solo career (be it in acting or singing) more than my own bias (lol sorry joonmyun-ah)ㅡbut I really am not a fan of historical drama. come to think of it, as far as I can remember, this is most likely the first historical korean drama I really watched/followed from the beginning 'til the end. and sorry to say, even after finished watching it, I'm still not a fan of historical drama. if it wasn't for kyungsoo, I wouldn't even watched this drama anyway, so just a heads-up: this is going to be a rather biased review.

a brief introduction to this drama: 100 days my prince is your typical korean drama (in historical setting) where the male lead fell in love with the female lead when they were little but after one tragic night in their childhood, they were separated and forced to live a life they didn't want.
our male lead, lee yul (do kyungsoo), had to grow up in the palace as the crown prince who had to marry another woman (han sohee) for political reasons. he was later subjected to kill by the evil, power-hungry vice premier (jo sungha) who was also his own father-in-law. however, he secretly managed to survive despite having to lose his memory. meanwhile, our female lead, yoon yiseo (nam jihyun) had to abandon her noble status and lived as peasant with a new name, yeon hongshim. at first she seemed to live a happy, carefree life, but deep inside she was still yearning to reunite with her long-lost older brother.
one day, hongshim's foster father found a wounded, unconcious man in the forest near their village and brought him home as na wondeuk, his future son-in-law. hongshim and wondeuk then had no choice to marry without knowing that wondeuk is actually the amnesiac crown prince nor hongshim is actually the crown prince's first love. as anyone and their mother and neighbors can predict, they slowly fell in love with each other before the crown prince was dragged back to the palace to deal with the messy drama and politic.

my honest opinion? the plot is ... not that special. but lol I lied if I said I didn't enjoy watching this drama, even when kyungsoo was the main reason why I liked it so much. it was really fun and heart-fluttering to see him portraying a fictional character for 16 episodes, rather than just following his updates as EXO D.O. all the time. I personally found him a little too cute for the crown prince role, but he nailed many difficult parts in this drama so in the end I'm nothing but a very proud noona fan of him ♥
the chemistry between the characters was great too. I honestly wasn't a fan of nam jihyun before (another reason why it was difficult for me to start watching this drama) because I found her acting/character a bit annoying in suspicious partner, her previous drama with ji changwook as her co-star. but then I'm really glad I didn't feel the same with her acting/character in this drama. she and kyungsoo really made an adorable pair as wondeuk/hongshim :)

another best thing about this drama: they chose chen to sing one of the soundtracks. man, I really love it when his beautiful voice kicked in as background music during our lead couple's sweet scenes ♥

so ... would I recommend this drama? my biased ass would definitely say YES lmao.
but fun fact tho: many of my non-EXO-L friends have watched this drama way before I did and they all gave positive responses. they said that they enjoyed watching it, kyungsoo did a really great job, and they are now his fans lol. it's a good thing because it means I'm not being completely biased when I say I enjoyed watching this drama, right?
... not really, hahaha, like I said earlier, if the main lead wasn't kyungsoo I wouldn't even watch this drama ;D
