Yesterday was sort of a long day. Packing stuff up in boxes ………. moving them to a storage facility. Remind me next time I’m born not to accumulate so much junk.

I could sit here and complain or ……….. I could dance.

You see, I believe God is a happy god who rejoices over his creation. And his creation rejoices over its maker. That is ….. most of his creation………… man tends to stand outside the party much of the time. But that is not how God intended it to be. He wants us to dance!

Psalm 98

A psalm.

1 Sing to the Lord a new song,
    for he has done marvelous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
    have worked salvation for him.
2 The Lord has made his salvation known
    and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
    the salvation of our God.

4 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the Lord with the harp,
    with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
    shout for joy before the Lord, the King.

7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands,
    let the mountains sing together for joy;
9 let them sing before the Lord,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.

While this particular psalm doesn’t mention dancing, I think it is implied. Other psalms like 149 and 150 do specifically use the word.

What you read in Psalm 98 is the joyfulness of creation: the earth shouting for joy, the sea roaring, the rivers clapping their hands, and the mountains singing. What a marvelous image, all that has been created giving praise to the Creator.

The world is dancing all around us. So today, I say let’s lay aside whatever is preventing us from moving and keeping us off our feet. Let’s join in the dance!
