Prerequisites:

1. Apple now requires the copyright holder (that’s you) to have your own Apple Developer account. You will need to enroll as an organization and complete the steps to get verified at  https://developer.apple.com/programs/enroll/. You must enroll as an organization. The developer account costs $99 per year. The upside is that your app will be listed under your company name rather than ours.

2. If you want to show your current song or song history, you’ll need to supply a link to a xml, json or rss feed from your streaming provider or middlewear software. Check with your streaming provider first. Most streaming providers have this, so it should not be a problem.

Once you have completed your initial payment, you’ll be sent to our app ordering wizard to give us the details of your app. Apps usually take about 30-45 days. If you are in a rush, we do offer a rush order for an additional fee. Due to work-load, delivery times without a rush fee are not guaranteed. Inquire before ordering if you have a hard deadline.

When your apps are built and approved, you’ll be asked to create a membership in our customer dashboard where you’ll be able to upload, store and schedule your apps pre-roll audio, advertising banners, custom backgrounds and anything else you have customized in your app. This service is $20-$50 per month depending on customizations and addons (which covers both apps) and is required for our service. This fee covers the hosting of the app, dynamic configuration and all required assets.

The Connected Premium package can update most routine things inside the app: colors, logos, menu items, stream url, feed url, links, etc. There is no charge for these updates on the Connected package. Please note that some things are hard-coded, such as your app icon and splash screen. If you want to update those, change the name of your app in the store, etc. you will be subject to an app update fee.

The Pro Standard version requires a new app version for each update of the items mentioned above. There is a $99 minimum fee for each published version ($198 for the two platforms combined). Minor updates normally do not exceed this fee and an exact quote will be provided on any requested updates. Please see Terms Of Service for full details.

On the great things about the Connected version is that you/we can change things on the fly, so your listeners don’t have to update the app. With the Pro version, you may have some users that don’t have auto-update turned on and they may not have the latest version.

Please note that from time to time, Apple and/or Google may push out major new requirements that require app updates. In this event, all affected clients are notified, given a timeline for updates and a quote on any required fees. We do our best to keep these required update fees to a minimum and in some cases are able to update apps to the new requirements at no charge.

Finally, Apple and Google see you as the developer, not us, as you own the developer account. Therefore it is your responsibility to monitor the developer account email and report any requirements or notices to us for advisement.

That all sounds pretty crazy, right? Don’t worry- it’s not that big of a deal and we’ll be right here to help. We just don’t want anyone freaking out when Google or Apple decide to require some new piece of code and you get a scary notice saying your app needs updating.  Just let us know and we’ll work through it together!
