Customized Communication Training to Create Supportive and Productive Work Places

At Radiate Consulting our goal is to create supportive and productive workplaces through training individuals in enhanced communication skills. We are able to create customized trainings to meet individual organizations needs.

An employee goes where they are wanted and stays where they are valued. Our goal is to help supervisors create an atmosphere where each individual feels heard and valued.

One of the training approaches we use is Motivational Interviewing to engage individuals in an interactive and creative way.

Motivational Interviewing Training

Motivational Interviewing is an evidence-based practice that addresses ambivalence to change. It uses a collaborative, person-centered approach that helps to guide an individual toward their own reasons for change. This approach helps them garner the resources and support they need to make the changes and achieve their self-defined success.

Basic Motivational Interviewing

The basic component of this course provides participants with an understanding of the spirit and skills of the Motivational Interviewing model, and gives them an opportunity to practice the model.

Objectives- Participants will effectively learn how to…

  • Describe the spirit and skills of the Motivational Interviewing model
  • Identify the outline & structure of Motivational Interviewing
  • Practice Motivational Interviewing in conversation
  • Determine how to implement MI practices into their work with individuals

Intermediate Motivational Interviewing

This component provides participants with additional information regarding Phase II of the Motivational Interviewing practices and gives participants an opportunity to practice a MI conversation through both phases. The Intermediate course also assists participants to identify the areas in which they can improve their practice, and offers strategies for making such improvements. This phase will enable many participants to practice the model with sufficient skill that they will begin to see results in their professional interactions.

Objectives- Participants will effectively learn how to…

  • Identify areas of practice that they find difficult
  • Demonstrate the skills to facilitate change talk, decision-making, and change planning
  • Demonstrate the spirit and skills of MI in an actual conversation, focusing on the areas identified in objectives
  • Determine how to implement MI practices into their work with individuals

Advanced Motivational Interviewing

The Advanced course builds on the competencies that participants developed in the Intermediate training, further honing their use of the Motivational Interviewing spirit and skills. It introduces the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity code, a more complex and accurate method for assessing use of the model, and enables participants to use this tool to refine their practice. This course will enable many participants to practice the model at a competent level.

Objectives- Participants will effectively learn how to…

  • Demonstrate the use of the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity (MITI) Code.
  • Utilize the MITI to code conversations observed and undergo such coding while practicing MI
  • Complete a self-assessment tool regarding use of MI and identify next steps to enhance fidelity
  • Determine how to implement Motivational Interviewing practices into their work with individuals
