Transparency (How We Make Money)

This page explains how QuoteFinder.ca may earn revenue, how payments relate to marketplace participation, and how we work to keep ranking, visibility, reviews, and trust signals fair and transparent.

Quick summary: QuoteFinder.ca may earn money from provider credits, subscriptions/plans, paid platform features, and other clearly disclosed business arrangements. We are not paid to rank quotes unfairly, and provider payments do not buy fake reviews, hidden “best quote” placement, or guaranteed consumer selection.

Why this page exists

QuoteFinder.ca is a marketplace platform. Transparency about revenue helps consumers, agents, brokers, and brokerages/teams understand how the platform operates and how payment may (and may not) affect participation and visibility.

We believe a clear business model is part of building a trustworthy marketplace. This page is intended to explain our platform economics in plain English, not marketing language.

What QuoteFinder.ca is (and is not)

QuoteFinder.ca is a marketplace platform that helps connect consumers with participating providers through quote request workflows, profile pages, messaging (where enabled), and comparison tools.

Platform role

  • QuoteFinder.ca is a marketplace platform.
  • We are not an insurer.
  • We do not guarantee pricing, policy approval, or outcomes.
  • We do not guarantee that any provider is the best fit for every user.

How QuoteFinder.ca may make money

QuoteFinder.ca may generate revenue from one or more of the sources below, depending on the products and features currently enabled on the platform.

1) Provider credits (marketplace participation)

Providers (including agents, brokers, and brokerages/teams) may pay for credits used to access certain marketplace actions or workflows, such as viewing opportunities, submitting responses, unlocking details, or other platform actions.

Credits help support platform operations, product development, moderation, support, and marketplace infrastructure.

2) Subscriptions or account plans

QuoteFinder.ca may offer paid plans or subscriptions for providers or brokerage/team accounts. These plans may include access to additional platform tools, reporting, workflow features, team functions, or operational controls.

Paid plans do not automatically guarantee better consumer outcomes, top ranking in all contexts, or positive reviews.

3) Paid platform features or optional upgrades

QuoteFinder.ca may charge for optional features such as verification workflows, enhanced account tools, or organization features (for example, team management or operational features) where available.

If a fee applies to a feature, the fee supports the platform and the related workflow. It does not convert a trust signal or badge into a guarantee.

4) Promotional placements or sponsored visibility (if offered)

If QuoteFinder.ca offers sponsored placements or promotional visibility in the future, we aim to label them clearly so users can distinguish them from standard marketplace ordering, reviews, or trust signals.

Important disclosure principle

We do not present paid placement as an independent editorial recommendation. If paid promotions are offered, they should be clearly identified.

5) Other business arrangements (if applicable)

QuoteFinder.ca may, from time to time, develop additional revenue sources related to operating the marketplace (for example, business services, software tools, or other clearly disclosed platform services). Where those affect user experience or provider visibility, we aim to disclose the relationship clearly.

What payment can affect on QuoteFinder.ca

Payment may affect access to certain platform tools, actions, or workflows. For example, a provider may need credits or an eligible plan to use specific marketplace features.

Payment-related itemWhat it may affectWhat it does not automatically guarantee
CreditsAccess to certain marketplace actions/workflowsTop ranking, client selection, or policy sale
Subscription / planAccess to plan features, tools, or team functionalityBest quote label, highest rating, or guaranteed visibility everywhere
Verification-related fee (if any)Verification workflow or review process accessGuaranteed outcomes, endorsements, or ranking priority
Sponsored placement (if offered and labeled)Promotional visibility in a clearly labeled contextBeing presented as neutral editorial advice or “best choice” by default

What payment does not buy

Things providers cannot buy through QuoteFinder.ca

  • Hidden “best quote” placement presented as neutral ranking
  • Fake reviews or fake ratings
  • Unfair removal of legitimate negative reviews
  • Guaranteed client selection or conversion
  • Guaranteed policy approval, pricing, or underwriting outcomes
  • Misleading verification badges without meeting platform criteria

Provider payments support platform participation and operations. They do not override platform rules, moderation standards, or review policies.

How ranking and visibility relate to revenue

QuoteFinder.ca may use marketplace factors such as relevance, eligibility, profile quality, account standing, and response behavior to organize how providers and responses are shown in different workflows.

Payment may affect feature eligibility (for example, whether a provider can participate in certain marketplace actions), but we are not paid to rank quotes unfairly.

For details, see How Ranking / Visibility Works.

How reviews, ratings, and trust signals relate to revenue

Reviews, ratings, and trust signals (such as verification badges or response metrics) are intended to help users compare providers on the platform. These are governed by platform policies and methodologies.

  • Payments do not buy positive ratings or fake reviews
  • Payments do not buy unfair removal of legitimate negative reviews
  • Verification badges require platform criteria/workflow and do not guarantee outcomes
  • Platform metrics and review systems are separate from billing status

See Reviews & Ratings Methodology, Verified Agent Program, and Verified Brokerage / Team Program.

How consumer use of QuoteFinder.ca may be priced

Consumer-facing access and quote request flows may be free in many cases, but QuoteFinder.ca may introduce fees for specific consumer-side features or services in the future if clearly disclosed before use.

If a consumer-facing fee applies to any feature, we aim to disclose the amount, purpose, and billing terms clearly before the user is charged.

Conflicts of interest and fairness principles

Like any business, QuoteFinder.ca has commercial interests in operating a sustainable platform. Our goal is to manage those interests transparently by publishing policies about ranking, verification, reviews, safety, and marketplace conduct.

Fairness principles we aim to follow

  • Clear disclosures when payment affects feature access or promotional placement
  • No hidden paid endorsements disguised as neutral rankings
  • Policy-based moderation for reviews/content, not payment-based moderation
  • Published standards for marketplace rules, safety, and quality

Billing, credits, and refund information

Billing terms, credits usage rules, and refund eligibility (where applicable) are governed by the relevant terms and policy pages. Providers and organizations should review those pages before purchasing credits or subscribing to plans.
