Quit2Heal: Stop Smoking. Start Healing.
Quitting smoking is hard. Quitting while facing cancer can feel even harder.
You may be dealing with stress, anxiety, stigma, or the feeling that smoking is one more thing people are judging you for. Quit2Heal was built for that reality.
Quit2Heal is the first-known smartphone app designed specifically to help adults with cancer quit smoking. It is free, private, science-based, and developed by Dr. Jonathan Bricker, PhD, and his team at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle, Washington, n collaboration with scientists at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and the American Cancer Society.
Quit2Heal was tested in a nationwide randomized clinical trial of adults with cancer who smoke.
A different way to quit. Most quit-smoking apps tell you to fight cravings.
Quit2Heal teaches a different approach: how to make room for cravings, stress, and difficult emotions without letting them decide what you do next.
Grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Quit2Heal helps you practice:
- Letting urges come and go without acting on them
- Handling stress, anxiety, shame, and stigma
- Building self-compassion after slips or setbacks
- Connecting quitting to what matters most to you
Taking the next smoke-free step, even when quitting feels hard
The goal is not to wait until you feel perfectly ready. The goal is to get support in the moments when smoking feels most powerful.
Built for people facing cancer. Quit2Heal includes support designed around the experience of cancer patients and survivors, including:
- Smoking after a cancer diagnosis
- Coping with judgment, blame, and stigma
- Managing stress, anxiety, and low mood
- Talking with care teams and loved ones about quitting
- Staying connected to personal values and reasons for healing
- Finding a path forward after slips
Quitting smoking after a cancer diagnosis can improve health and support cancer care. Quit2Heal gives you private support right on your phone.
What you’ll get:
- A step-by-step quit plan
- Tools to use when cravings hit
- Cancer-specific education and support
