Blah... ramblings
(does exactly what it says on the tin)
Does it surprise you that what I have to say is massively spoilery?
SPOILERS and a high level of embarrassing fanwankingCollapse )

It's the only way I can like it.

Finally got around to watching Time of the Angels after my little holiday in Poland.

What a wonderful treat! Absolutely bloody terrifying. They're everywhere. I wish I had a sofa to hide behind. I was trying not to look away in case they CAME OUT OF THE TELLY AT ME.

I love Eleven. I really, really love Eleven. He's so delightfully other.

I have a crack in my wall. I am going to watch it carefully from now on.

Also, I want to be Amy Pond. It's the first time I've ever actually wanted to be the companion. She's so beautiful and awesome and I think I need to lie down now.

Well, that was pretty much entirely fail, wasn't it? I use this icon entirely ironically, as I spent the last half hour of that episode screaming "JUST DIE ALREADY, TEN". It was like the end of Return of the King but less pretty and riddled with fail.

Donna! Uncle Rusty, why do you hate Donna so? Why do you give her a failworthy ending of fail?

I'm not even going to pretend I understood the plot--was there one?

Even the Doctor/Master big gay love moment wasn't enough to redeem it.

"I don't want to go", indeed. Rusty, I'm glad you're gone.

I have got round to watching Who-special-whose-name-I-can't-remember. Waters on Mars? Waters of Mars? Watery, wet, fucking terrifying Mars.

Doctor Who at is finest is always ripping off something decent, and there was a slightly Event Horizon-y feel to the first half. Actually, maybe it wasn't Event Horizon. It was something creepy as hell in space anyway.

My creeped out feeling faded about halfway through, and I don't remember anything particularly interesting happening until the last ten minutes.

Oh my goodness, I nearly did a little poo. Everything was Going Horribly Wrong, and it wasn't like The Doctor was going to make it all better because he's GONE COMPLETELY CRAZY AT LAST! Had I a sofa, I would have hidden.

Well played, Rusty, well played.

DigitalSpy has a random picture that may or may not be Matt Smith in his Doctor regalia

Ignoring the fact he looks like a six-year-old in his dad's suit, I am alarmed at The Moff's comment:
"Matt and Karen are going to be incredible, and Doctor Who is going to come alive on Saturday nights in a whole new way - and best of all, somewhere out there, a seven-year-old is going to see them, fall in love, and start making a forty year plan..."

I hope that comma isn't an editing error. Otherwise we have a problem.

I am seriously impressed by the way this series of Torchwood is going. In a non-spoilery fashion, I can happily say that the limited number of episodes, the existence of an arc and the increased budget have worked wonders.

In other news, I am currently engaged in a bad fanfic-writing contest over at Why, God, Why. I would recommend that anyone on my flist who hasn't yet signed up there should. It's the remenants of Godawful Fan Fiction, with the addition of the odd challenge here and there. My piece of bad fanfiction involves Jack rather inexplicably knocking up Ianto. Naturally they are completely happy about this. Rose is also very inexplicably anorexic--or possibly bulimic; the awfulness of my own bad writing impresses me. Later chapters may feature Jack and Ianto's speshul Sue baby being sent away to live with a moustache-twirlingly evil River Song.

I mention this for two reasons. Mostly, to get my flists onto Wugwah (yeah, it doesn't really have pronounceable initials), and also to say that if you see that shit on ff.net, please leave it be. I promise it's that awful on purpose. Also, please don't sockpuppet review it, that's against the rules. So. Join Wugwah, flist. It's great.

How lovely to see Torchwood again. It's like seeing an old uni housemate: mostly warm fuzzy feelings mixed with reawakened memories of just how annoying they are.

It was nice to see some actual footage of London. Really. I spotted my nemesis, the number 12 bus. Must have had a bit of a budget increase there.

However, at the moment I can form no more coherent thoughts due to the fact that my brain is begging to be scrubbed with steel wool and I am quietly moaning "the horror. The horror."

Back view of John Barrowman's ballbag=OH DEAR GOD HIDEOUS.

I have heard that Katee Sackhoff is going to be in 24. Why yes, I am delighted.

Please, let's have her playing Starbuck, and being one of the few who could Win In A Fight With J-Bizzle.
