Our story

The qoob journey started 33 years ago!

1993: Where it all began

SilverDisc was founded in 1993, initially working on compact disc technologies (“silver discs”), before moving into website design development and hosting in 1994 and online marketing in 1995.

2003: Growing alongside the web

By 2003, we had patents in SEO technology, and were running PPC ads for what is now Google Ads and Bing Ads. The years from 2003 to 2010 saw growth as we spoke around the world on SEO, and saw us becoming a full service agency following the launches of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.

2010: Focusing on what's right

2017: A parallel story begins...

Alongside SilverDisc’s journey, 2017 marked the start of Square Media. Founded by Matthew Rigby-White, the vision was to work with small business owners to help grow their businesses online. At the age of 23, Matthew left his full-time job as a Marketing Manager and started the company, initially as a freelancer.

2019: Rapid growth for Square Media

In 2019, Square Media had grown in just a couple short years to a full-service marketing agency, working with companies across the Midlands, and landing major contracts, including a large broadband rollout. In this time we grew to 12 staff and expanded our service offering.

2022: SilverDisc acquired, and Qoob formed

In the aftermath of the global Covid-19 pandemic, Alan & Matthew crossed paths in 2021, and eventually completed a deal in January 2022, which saw the merger of Square Media & SilverDisc; forming The Qoob Group.

2024: Qoob Group rebrands as Qoob Agency

And here we are.. at the end of 2024, and we’ve now launched our new positioning, branding and website. Over the last couple of years we’ve refined our service offerings, dug deep and relaunched as a specialist Digital Marketing Agency with a distinct focus on working with emerging DTC & Ecommerce brands.

2024: Qoob Relocates to Kettering Offices!

And like a full circle.. Qoob acquires it’s own premises at Swallow Court, in Kettering – only a few doors up from SilverDisc’s old office. The Qoob team looks forward to welcoming clients – old and new – to our offices.
