QBFC (QuickBooks Foundation Classes) by Intuit is a COM-based development library that provides a strongly typed, object-oriented wrapper around the QuickBooks Desktop SDK. It enables Windows developers to programmatically read and write data in a QuickBooks Desktop company file—customers, vendors, items, lists, invoices, bills, payments, time activities, and more—without manually crafting qbXML. QBFC manages sessions, authentication, request/response processing, versioning, and error handling, allowing integrations to focus on business logic. It supports add, query, modify, and delete operations and works with any language that can consume COM, including C#, VB.NET, C++, and Delphi. Common use cases include syncing accounting data with CRM, e-commerce, inventory, and other line-of-business systems. QBFC communicates with a locally installed copy of QuickBooks Desktop via the Request Processor and is not intended for use with QuickBooks Online. It is distributed as part of the QuickBooks Desktop SDK.
