I'm Canadian. I’ve been married to velvetpage for fifteen years. In 2011 we added a third person to our relationship, our mate kores_rabbit. In 2013, velvetpage met another lovely person, and now lives with her, though we are all still a happy family. kores_rabbit and I live in a 90-year-old house in a shabby industrial city.

I used to be a magazine writer and newspaper reporter. Then, I worked as a technical writer for eight years. Then I was a reporter again for three years. Now I'm a tech writer again. I’ve also written/contributed to some RPG books. I’m the author/co-author of the most recent editions of the Usagi Yojimbo and Albedo role-playing games.

I shoot black and white film and attend alarming conventions.
