Puzzlebox Orbit: Brain-Controlled Helicopter
Puzzlebox Orbit is an educational toy that combines a physical helicopter with brain-control capabilities using EEG headsets from various manufacturers and open source software.
This application connects to a NeuroSky MindWave or Emotiv Insight EEG headset to read your brainwaves. For NeuroSky devices, target levels of focused concentration ("Attention") and/or mental relaxation ("Meditation") are set using sliders. For Emotiv devices "Mental Commands" can be trained to match your specific brainwaves. When you reach your target the Puzzlebox Orbit helicopter will take off. It will continue flying for as long as you maintain your goal. A touchscreen joystick can be used to steer. And session data is now collected, graphed, and can be shared to cloud storage, messaging services, and via email.
