My whole LJ is in Russian. Wtf? How can I get the links and stuff back to English? Even giving in and switching to the new version doesn't help. My friends page looks the same. Allllll Russian. I can't read Russian, LJ, and I don't want to have to use my browser translator (that sucks) every time I come here!
Oh, also, hi! I have been long absent. Recently, I've been thinking about updating more. I'm trying to find the motivation. Weird stuff happens in Japan, maybe I will post about that :)
Title: Places of Safety Rating: PG-15? Warnings: None Words: ~2100 Characters/Pairings: Peri/Erimem, Fifth Doctor Summary: Erimem finds the most joy inside the TARDIS. A/N: Written for wishfulaces for the Seventh Annual Femslash Ficathon at dw_femslash, for the prompt: "secret spaces / "Touch is the revolution" (Anne Sexton) / bedrooms / timestream crossing (ANY of the above!)". Didn't quite manage to fit timestreams in there, though, sorry. Beta-read by livii. References to The Eye of the Scorpion, No Place Like Home, The Axis of Insanity, The Kingmaker and The Veiled Leopard.
Go check out my blog, where I have photos of stuff I found in supermarkets that have been put back in seemingly random places! (I has done funny writings as well.) Nine down, only ninety-one to go :)

Check out my latest blog post here! It's me live-blogging last Saturday's episode of Strictly Come Dancing. Fair warning: I know very little about ballroom dancing that I did not learn from Sabrina. My opinions are very uninformed :)

New blog post! I was away from the net a bit while jupiter_star was here for a week, but I am sorta back now. Much fun was had while she was here, such as awesome sushi at OKO Express, heavily discounted salon day (here, lookit the pretty photo!), seeing lots of friends, etc, but there was a special kind of random fun in listening to an old guy play clarinet on the bus to drown out some guy's annoying tinny headphones. Check out the post, it's got videos :D

Posted a new blog entry today, about how I met Sergeant Benton! Kinda only decided to go to Collectormania on a whim, but ended up having a really good day. John Levene was really nice :) So have a read of my latest entry, in which there is much more detail :)

So yeah, I have a blog! I will be blogging about lots of different things, and there may be fiction. Although I'll also post any fiction here, too :) I know I don't post here a lot, and it's partly cos I feel like my day to day life, most of the time, isn't worth writing about, and when it is, it's usually cos something bad happened, and there are comms for that where you don't sound like a whiner. Heh :) I do still read my friends page every day, often multiple times a day, now that I have a new phone and proper mobile internet, so I keep up with what you are all up to :)
Anyway, I wanted to have a 'random stuff' blog, and now I do :) Please, go read my first proper article!
This weekend I was in Aberdeen for LGBT Youth Scotland's annual meet-up, to celebrate the achievements made by LGBT young people this year. Lots of fun was had, and many new friends were made, including some of the Israeli young people here on a visit. I love it when I meet people from other countries, I get to learn so much :) We had a disco, with the theme of 'your hero'. I mostly did face painting at that, since I'm not much for dancing :) Much fun. And I took part in a workshop about board breaking, where we looked at our issues and the things holding us back, and then smashed through the wooden board with our hands. It was empowering, and I felt exhilarated :) All in all, a good weekend :)
Okay, so I am addicted to cross-stitch, and I love the Gold Collection by Dimensions. I completed this one after getting it at Creative Stitches (craft expo in Glasgow), and from looking at kits and designs online, I have fallen in love with their butterfly and bird designs. Found a few from other designers too while I was looking. So, this is my Amazon wishlist for my birthday, using that nifty universal wishlist thingy: Link. Obviously I am only putting it up on the off-chance, and I don't expect anyone to get me anything, but it would be awesome if someone did.

I've encountered bad bus drivers in my time - deliberately missing the stop because you must ring the bell even if you're standing up front clearly waiting to get off; getting out to get groceries while passengers wait on the bus; going far too fast on icy roads, etc. But today, a driver took a corner sharply and a woman fell right off her seat. When the nearest person helped her up (I was quite far back or I would've got up to help), she shouted at the driver for his poor driving, and he answered back, "I'm sorry, you're drunk!" Woman flashes her disability travel card and yells at him some more, because he keeps saying she's drunk. Apparently 'drunk' and 'MS' are the same in Bus Driver Land. *headdesk*

Title: Time Lords in Floppy Hats Rating: G Warnings: None Words: ~1500 Characters: Time Lords #1 and #2 from the Unbound audio, Exile. Summary: The Doctor has escaped the justice of the Time Lords and hidden away on Earth. Two agents from the Celestial Intervention Agency are sent to retrieve him, but it's not all fun and games searching for a renegade on an alien planet. A/N: Written for the who_like_giants Minor/Original Characters Ficathon. Many thanks to agapi42 for her brilliant help. The names of the Time Lords are not canonical, I came up with them myself. Tavin is the one played by David Tennant, and Norlow is played by Toby Longworth. Also, I would recommend listening to Exile if you like silliness and aren't squicked by vomit noises. Honestly, it's really funny if you fall into that category. And this will make a fair bit more sense, although I think it's fairly accessible to those who haven't heard it yet.

Title: Making an Ass Out of You and Me Author: purple_bug Fandom: Doctor Who Pairing/characters: Tenth Doctor, Bobbie Colville (OC) Rating: PG Disclaimer: The Doctor and the TARDIS belong to the BBC. Prompt: #493. Doctor Who, any characters. For once the Doctor doesn't have to deal with his female Companion lusting after him, because she's a lesbian. She's not sure what to make of the fact that he seems to have a crush on her. Summary: Misinterpretations are very easily made when travelling in time and space. Warnings: None Words: ~4300 A/N: Written for the 2009 lgbtfest, and beta'd by the wonderfully patient agapi42.

It's doing the rounds, thought I'd steal it :o) I had quite a bit of fun making these up, and I'm surprised that less of them are from Who than I anticipated.
Pick up to 15 OTPs. Describe them in less than 15 words. Have your flist guess the OTP.

Thursday, 1st January, 2009 | 19:21 pm What am I listening to?: Ultravox - Vienna
Nicked it from glitterfairy25, cos it looked interesting and I do watch a hell of a lot of telly. Let's see if I watch as much as I think I do :o)
Only one rule: If you watch an episode more than once a year you can list it again if you haven't already listed it in the current month.
I'll try to remember what I've watched since the year started... My archives are coming in handy here :oD Does a typical Classic Who or TP story count as four episodes? I'll do it like that until told otherwise, since you can split them up and watch some later, like I did last week. And do audios count? They come in episodes... It says 'watch', so I guess not. Besides, I don't think I'll need help reaching the target :oD
What's interesting is what I've watched for the first time by myself, and what I've watched with other people, often for the second or third (or fifteenth) time. I think I'll put a name next to the episode in question if I watched it with someone.

Title: Ὕστερον πρότερον (2/2) Pairing: Mel/Ace Rating: PG-13 Words: ~4000 Summary: The locals of Epsilon Xi have a troubled future ahead of them. Or possibly behind them. Mel's getting a bit muddled with all this, actually. Author's Notes: Written for the dw_femslash ficathon, for glinda_penguin, who wanted crossing of timestreams and mythology, and gave me this quote: "They have not wanted Peace at all; they have wanted to be spared war - as though the absence of war was the same as peace." - Dorothy Thompson. The title is Greek, and translates as "The latter one first". Further notes on a few small bits of Greek used in the fic are under the cut. Sorry again for the delay - RL sucks. Many thanks to agapi42 for her fast and helpful beta work! :o)
