In 2004 I wanted to do a block of the month project with hand appliqué and was inspired by the book “Rose Sampler Supreme” by Rosemary Makhan. I had done a little needleturn appliqué before and chose twelve of the blocks she provided. It all went well until May when the fifth block had many tiny leaves that drove me crazy. I put the blocks away and didn’t look at them again until the end of the year. It took me four years altogether to finish the quilt but I am quite proud that I did finish it in the end.
