How is time managed on Atlantis? Question

While rewatching Stargate Atlantis I noticed someone, I believe it was Carson Beckett, wearing a wristwatch. This made me wonder:

How do they manage time in Atlantis? I remember someone saying that the planet where Atlantis resides is very close to earth in size, but nevertheless I find it highly unlikely that the duration of a day matches a day on earth.

So, do they just keep the hours/minutes/seconds they are used to from earth? I know this is not a problem on spaceships, but on a planet with day/night cycle I imagine this very difficult.

So, did they adapt the time keeping to the planets rotation? Did they adapt their watches to it?

Only vaguely related, but interesting video about adapting watches to other planets: https://www.yout... (1 comment)

They did adapt their routine to the planet cycle by adding more hours to the day, aka Atlantis Standard Time. I don't think we know exactly how long one Atlantis Standard Day is, but we know that it is at least 26:30 hours long, see https://forum.gateworld.net/general-stargate-discussion/29865-atlantis-day-length for a discussion.

By just adding more hours to each day, time intervals would still be the same. They could still microwave their TV dinner according to the package instructions and, as long as they synchronise their watches every morning, they could keep their Earth watches.
