Website Launch: Jackson County Deflection Program

Supporting Jackson County’s Innovative Deflection Program

We’re excited to announce the launch of a new website built by Project A in support of Jackson County’s Deflection Program, a forward-thinking initiative designed to offer treatment-first alternatives to individuals facing low-level drug charges.

As the web development team behind this project, we’re proud to support an effort that brings compassion, public safety, and access to services together in one program. The new website serves as a central hub for community education, transparency, and collaboration.

A Platform with Purpose

The Deflection Program, led by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement partners, offers eligible individuals the opportunity to engage with peer mentors and behavioral health providers instead of facing prosecution. The goal? Help people access the care they need before entering the criminal justice system.

Our job was to make this mission visible, approachable, and easy to understand online.

What We Built

The website, jacksoncountyordeflection.org, was designed to:

  • Educate the community on what deflection is, who it serves, and how it works.

  • Highlight local partnerships, including Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Medford Police, Addictions Recovery Center, and OnTrack Rogue Valley, just to name a few.

  • Explain the process in simple, accessible language, with a downloadable FAQ and contact options for community members and stakeholders.

We developed a mobile-first, content-focused site that works well for outreach workers in the field and community members on the go. The structure makes it easy for the Sheriff’s Office to add updates as the program evolves.

Why It Matters

This isn’t just another program page. This is a public resource that supports a major shift in how our region responds to addiction and behavioral health needs.

JC-Deflection

With the support of a state grant through June 2025, the program is already being piloted in key areas like the Bear Creek Greenway and Livability Team outreach in Medford. By offering a clear and engaging web presence, we help increase community awareness, build trust, and encourage participation in a solution-focused alternative to traditional prosecution.

Our Role at Project A

At Project A, we believe in building more than just websites. We build tools for impact. Whether it’s a health campaign, a nonprofit initiative, or a government program like this one, our goal is to make information more usable, trustworthy, and human.

From initial strategy to content support and design, our team worked closely with program leaders to ensure the site reflects their values of accessibility, dignity, and care.

What’s Next

As the Deflection Program grows, the website will evolve alongside it. From performance tracking to outreach events and program testimonials, we’ve laid the groundwork for future content that keeps the public informed and engaged.

We’re honored to support the people behind this initiative and even more proud to know our work plays a small part in connecting individuals to hope, healing, and support.
