Our Legacy

Progress Design and Machine was established in 1966 in Clyde, Ohio. The company designed and built machines for several industries, primarily for the crankshaft and camshaft industries. Toledo Automated Concepts (TAC) was founded in the late 1980s in Toledo, Ohio. In December of 1990 TAC joined Progress. In 1994, TAC purchased Sun Tool and service all Sun Tool machinery, as well as offer machine upgrades or replacements on legacy Sun Tool equipment. TAC primarily served cold end glass manufacturing for the automotive industry with a focus on glass drilling. In 2008, TAC passed a milestone with producing their 500th glass-drilling machine. The company takes pride in this achievement and feel this helps us solidify them as “World Leaders in Glass Drilling Technology”.

In 2018 they completed an addition of approximately 25,000 square feet to their Clyde Ohio facility. This has allowed them to continue to grow their footprint in the market by taking on increasingly larger and more complex projects.
