Avoided this for as long as I could. Site is under major overhaul and I’m thankful for the framework to play in that was set up by the initial developers 2 years ago. We had a friend doing updates on long descriptions of lightbox items. He reached the end of his expertise and we found a gal to bail us out on broken lightbox scrolling and to fix the use of double quotes in the descriptions. When she didn’t reply to several requests for further site updates and overall management, I stepped in and played “what’s this button do?” and “what’s that one do?” looking for things I could identify to update. Mega googling, inspecting, and viewing source days and weeks later, I figured out how to edit thumbnail descriptions, backup the live site, export the live site and import into a subdomain for a testbed, add and publish a portfolio category, re-order images in a portfolio category, re-order menus, make the text larger on the front page heading and subheading, upload higher res images so they display larger in the lightbox, regenerate thumbnails, add freakin’ code to the child theme’s functions.php file to override the default “portfolio-thumb” size, add a plugin to crop said thumbnails as needed. Created this account because of plugin update issues. “Regenerate Thumbnails – advanced” plugin works as expected on subdomain but not main site. ????? They have identical plugins which are up-to-date and compatible.
