WordPress Origin Story

My journey with WordPress began like many others: by building my own website, okdaily.info. As I was developing the site, I realized I needed more specific control over how my articles appeared when shared on social media.

While there were many large plugins available, I saw an opportunity to learn and to create something tailored to my exact needs. I decided to dive into the world of plugin development, challenging myself to build my own solution from the ground up.

That decision was the start of an incredible learning experience, covering everything from the WordPress Settings and Meta Box APIs to security best practices and the official submission process. The result of that journey is my first public plugin, “Smart Open Graph.” It’s a testament to the power of the WordPress platform and a project I’m incredibly proud to share with the community.
