After saying I was going to do so much better and post more often on here. Ahem. I havent even read much at all these last few months and that is something I have NEVER not done since I was four years old.
Last weekend was spent at Milton Keynes on the Pros Nattercon weekend, and Shirley and Judes did a helluva great job. Really enjoyed it, and also enjoyed the fact that Mike came up on the Saturday to spend a few hours with me and see Chris too. It's a shame men are excluded and will be for the foreseeable future thanks to a poll taken, because I think him and Paul would enjoy themselves. Oh well, we'll just have to do the same next year. Thank goodness for Harvesters close by.
Following on from that, I came to London on the Monday and am still here, staying at Mike's. Had a fab fab week and its going to only get better because...big announcement...I am going to be moving in :-))) Im looking for jobs and in fact, I've just had an email now saying they want me for interview!! So I am, as you can imagine, well happy. The LGI gang are already fighting over my Band 6 post, even though I havent yet put my notice in! But I cant wait to move inand sort the place out and just be here with him. Love love love love him so damn much!
And here, dear readers, is a lovely photo of us taken just yesterday (in the pub where we were also filmed for a new show coming out on Dave called Freefalling or Freewheeling or something, starring Ross Nobel and Johnny Vegas, who were there!!!)

Anyway, there you have it, my most up to date of my life :-)))
How's everyone else then?

I have 3 x 3 day standard tickets for Destination Star Trek London, cost £49 each. We now cant go, so would anyone fancy buying them off me? £100 for the 3 or nearest offer. Can split too.
My Paid Account for LJ expires very soon and I'm pondering whether to keep it on or not. On the one hand, I loved LJ and being able to see everyones thoughts, musings, rants, icons and vids. On the other hand, I've discovered FB, which is sooo much easy to just jot down a note or two. But again, this is great for getting stuff off your chest (as I did recently) which I couldnt do on FB.
Thoughts, dear flist?
It's almost Christmas *is gleeful* and I have had some wonderful, hand-made, thoughtful Christmas cards so I thank each and everyone one of you. I apologise now in advance for not being brilliant at sending them, but you know you are all thought of warmly, honestly. I know I'm rubbish! I shall endeavour to make up for it next year.
Only two more days to work then I am off for ten whole days!!! Having not had a holiday since the beginning of August, and what with all the unbelievable stress and strain I've been under, I am soooo ready. More than ready, actually. I just need these few days to relax with the family and stay in bed, or stay up late.
Am enjoying work more, my new job is interesting and I'm enjoying getting back onto the wards to compile the information required in order to help those lovely, sweet ladies and gents get the help they deserve to get into their own homes, or rehab care. Plus the office gals are fab too and I am now more determined than ever to start losing weight in the New Year. I have girls who will encourage me and I have inspiration - one of the girls, who is my age, lost 41/2 stone since last April!!!!! I have no excuses, and I am feeling ready for the challenge.
Righty ho, what an update!
I hope you all have a fabulous Christmas and lets hope 2012 is FAR FAR FAR better than this year has been :-)))))

So it's been a funny few weeks.
I'm still waiting to actually start my new post. Cath Lab won't release me as I am on rotas (not on call, just on rota!) so I'm getting very frustrated. They are using me and as I am only there to cover sickness, surely I can leave whenever my new boss wants? Which was, er, about 3 weeks ago!!! Anyhoo...
Wednesday is strike day. Although I voted for strike action, I dont actually think I can go through with it as you lose a day's pay. I'm already struggling so I think I might have to go in whilst supporting the strike in my heart. Am I bad? Probably.
Gary Speed, ex Leeds legend, died on Sunday. Complete and utter shock, disbelief and majorly upsetting. I used to go to Elland Road when he played, and loved him. He was a gentleman. Why he hung himself, I have no idea. My thoughts are with his family and friends.
Went to Portmeirion last weekend (Sunday to Tuesday) thanks to my wonderful kids who bought me the deal for my birthday. THOROUGHLY THOROUGHLY enjoyed it, and fell in love with the place. It's beautiful and, because it was autumn, very quiet - it was like having our own Prisoner village to explore. Not to mention Doctor Who location. And our room was perfect - dual aspect sitting room and 4 windows, each with a view over the estuary and/or hotel. Gorgeous.
My first ever vid!! Be gentle!!

Well, after all the crap that has gone on with my job and I, it would seem I have a brand new job!!
I went for an interview, for a job that was put forward for me as part of my redeployment process. Not keen on interviews, quite frankly, I always fuck up, and this time was no different. One of the questions I had to answer I had no idea because I didnt (relating to legislation) and I just had to be honest about it. Up until that point, I thought I had done okay for me.
So I left thinking, well, that's it. Done it again, screwed it up. They told me they would ring after they had decided and after someone else was interviewed. And of course, being down in the dumps and also theatre based for 20 years, I thought I had no chance as most other interviewees would be from ward-based areas and have more idea than I.
11.30am yesterday I got their phone call offering me the job!!!!!!!! Can you say WELL HAPPY?? Chuffed to bits I was, grinning like a dog with ten tails. I think I leapt in the air a couple of times too!! Hubby nearly raised the roof off the house!!
Now, it is only fixed term until March, but you never know what will happen. But for now, I have a new job. Which is...Discharge/Community Liason Nurse. Means I help get people out of hospitals and back into their own environment or even care homes with as much help as they need.
A new challenge but one I will relish, I think. Of course, the leap into the unknown is scary, but...
So yay :-))) Not sure when it will happen but it will be in the next two or three weeks...

This is the Pros version of a meme, that I nabbed from
solosundance
1. How did you discover the Professionals?
Via hubby. He introduced me to it one day, and, I have to say, I wasnt at all interested, but I watched to please him. Let me tell you, one look at Mr Tall, Dark, Handsome (and exceeding modest) and I soon perked up. Funnily enough, not being a slasher at this stage, unbelievably I didnt see it on first viewing. Yes, yes, I know!
2. Favourite character
Bodie. Love him. Nuff said.
3. Least favourite character
Shelly sodding Hunter. Annie. Ann Holly. That UGLY American bint in Fugitive. The kids in The Gun.
4. Favourite episode
OMG only one? No way. I cant pick just one. Hunter/Hunted, Stakeout, Purging, First Night, Ojuka - they all have something to recommend them *g*
5. Least favourite episode
The Gun. And Weekend In The Country. I hate The Gun because there is no plot, no acting (except from our boys) and stoopid kids. And WITC? Dunno, just dont like it.
6. Best Cowley moment
When he says to Bodie "Well, it's not ever likely to happen to you, is it?" (regarding marriage) and the banter between them. Bodie "Dont believe you could smile benevolently)
7. Best Bodie moment?
Difficult. The goosing of Doyle? Hugging Doyle to him? Hmm, scruffy boys in tuxs? Naa, cute Bodie with his finger in the telephone full of extra plastic in Purging!
8. Best Doyle moment
When he snogs the arse off Bodie When he poses, rent boy style, for his Bodie.
9. Best female guest star
Difficult. Not keen on females in Pros (yes, I know, thankyouverymuch!). NO, Elizabeth Walsh is fab! Also like Frances Cottingham.
10. Favourite moment from S1
Heroes. Cowley saying "Cowley would like to know what Cowley is?" Bodie "Would you believe warm and considerate?" Always, always makes me laugh!
11. Favourite moment from S2
Bodie splitting his trews and hugging Doyle to him in Stakeout
12. Favourite moment from S3
That moment in Bodie's flat with his finger in the telephone!
13. Favourite moment from S4
The tulip in Need To Know!!!! OMG, you just KNOW what Bodie is thinking!!
14. Favourite moment from S5
"You'll have to share a bathroom, is that ok?" and the subsequent 'looks' in Ojuka
15. A scene that makes you laugh
The gleeful look on his face as he stuffs swiss roll into his mouth and winks at Doyle.
16. A scene that makes you cry
Having to watch him endure The Gun!
17. A scene you rewind to watch over again and again
The actual handholding scene in the hospital - cant remember what ep now, sorry (but it is defo Lew and Mart, rather than Bodie n Doyle...IMHO anyway lol)

The Uzi. "That's not where you got mine from..."
24. Best "move" in a fight
Bodie's, to restrict Doyle, in Stakeout
25. Favourite outfit
The tracksuits in First Night and the Tuxs.
