Is the Probe It food handlers certificate accepted in Ontario?
Yes. Probe It Food Safety is listed by the Ontario Ministry of Health as a recognized food handler training provider. Do I need a food handlers certificate in Canada?
Yes, most provinces and territories require at least one trained food handler on site during every operating hour. The exact rule varies by province. Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and Newfoundland all mandate it. BC requires FOODSAFE Level 1. Yukon, NWT, and Nunavut strongly recommend training. How long does the food handlers certificate course take?
Most people finish the full course in as little as 6 hours. The course is self-paced, so you can stop and start as many times as you need. You have 30 days from the date of purchase to complete the course and pass the final exam. Extensions are free.
Is the food handlers certificate valid in all provinces?
Yes. Our food handlers certificate is recognized by public health authorities in all 13 Canadian provinces and territories. What is the difference between food handlers certificate and FOODSAFE Level 1?
FOODSAFE Level 1 is the BC version of the food handlers certificate. Both cover the same topics: safe food handling, temperature control, cross-contamination prevention, cleaning and sanitation, and foodborne illness.
