Princess Link is an RPG that mixes team-based combat, character collection, and an anime-style narrative in a game full of surprises. In this adventure, you must assemble a group of heroines of different races and styles to confront a latent threat, all while progressing through a story that tries to give context for each battle.
Develop a strategy to win
The most important thing in Princess Link isn't getting strong characters, but knowing how to position them on the battlefield. The battles are six-on-six, and grid positioning will define part of your strategy. Some characters have close-range or long-range attacks, others have little health, and some can withstand the most powerful of attacks. Knowing how to position your characters in the best possible place will be a major part of your strategy, as poor positioning could cost you survival points. Plus, you'll need to consider the synergies between the princesses, which will let you unlock additional effects when you combine certain units. Think everything through before entering a level, and your chances of winning will increase considerably.
Collect unique heroines
Another of the game's strong points is collecting. Here you'll find over 100 unlockable characters, each with its own unique design, animations, and skills. As all the princesses are special, you're free to combine as you like, analyze their stats, boost their attacks, and, ultimately, make the most of each one. As you progress through the story, you'll come across stronger princesses, but don't overlook the ones you already have, as certain attack combos can be devastating.
My thoughts on Princess Link
I was left with the impression that Princess Link is a fairly well-developed game within its genre and catches the eye right from the start thanks to its characters and animations. It isn't a complex game, and the narrative content, along with the interactions with the characters, gives the story variety.
The best and the worst of Princess Link
• What I liked the most is the auto-battle system and character collecting.
• What I liked least is that it relies heavily on gacha mechanics.
