How to Add a Dynamic Watermark to Your Videos
Presto Player includes built-in presets to help you set up videos quickly. These cover common use cases, but they may not include everything you need, such as branding or content protection from screen recording tools.
In those cases, you can create a custom preset. One of the available options in custom presets is Dynamic Watermark, which lets you add a text watermark to your videos and control how it appears.

Note: Custom presets are available only with Presto Player Pro.
What Is a Dynamic Watermark?
A Dynamic Watermark adds a text overlay on top of your video.

This overlay is commonly used to:
- Keep your brand visible on shared or embedded videos
- Discourage unauthorized reuse of your content
For example, if you publish tutorials or internal training videos, a watermark helps ensure your brand remains visible even if the video is copied or reposted.
Adding a Dynamic Watermark
Before you start, make sure both Presto Player and Presto Player Pro are installed and activated.
Step 1Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
Step 2Open the page or post that contains your video.
Step 3Select the Presto Player video block.
Step 4Open the block settings and click Add New Preset.
Step 5Give the preset a name.
Step 6Enable Dynamic Watermark.
Step 7Turn on the Dynamic Watermark Text toggle.

A placeholder watermark will appear in the preview.
Customizing Your Dynamic Watermark
You can adjust how the watermark looks and behaves using the available options.
- Textenter the text you want to display as the watermark.
- Positionchoose where the watermark appears:
- Top right
- Top left
- Alternating positions every 10 seconds
The position change is visible only on the front end, not while editing.
- Colorsset the text color and background color to match your branding.
- Opacitycontrol how transparent or solid the watermark appears.

Once you’re satisfied:
- Click Create Preset to save and apply it.
- Confirm the preset is selected under Video Preset.
- Click Save at the top to apply the changes.
You can update the watermark preset at any time by clicking the pencil icon next to the preset.
After saving, the watermark will appear on your video during playback.
Conclusion
Dynamic Watermark is a simple but effective way to keep your brand visible and protect your content. Once your custom preset is set up, it applies automatically to any video that uses it, with no extra steps needed each time.
