The Dashboard

The Dashboard is your central hub for PressPrimer Assignment activity. It provides an at-a-glance review of recent submissions, grading progress, and quick access to common tasks.

To access the dashboard, sign into /wp-admin/ and navigate to Assignments > Dashboard from the sidebar on the left.

Dashboard Overview

The Dashboard includes the following main sections:

  1. Statistics Cards: Key metrics about your assignments and submissions, including total assignments, total submissions, submissions pending grading, and pass rate. Zero values are normal as you get started, and note that the pass rate only shows up after there have been several graded submissions.
  2. Quick Actions: Buttons for common tasks including creating a new assignment and opening the grading queue.
  3. Activity Chart: Track submissions over time. The chart can be filtered by time range (7 days, 30 days, 90 days). This can alert you to possible issues if submission volume is trending higher or lower than expected.
  4. Recent Activity: See recent submissions at a glance, including student name, assignment, status, and date. Click View All to see the full submissions list.

Important Notes

  • Statistics are cached to ensure fast page loads. They will refresh automatically, and if you’re using Redis, Memcached or a caching plugin, clearing its cache will force a data refresh.
  • The plugin is fully accessible. You can move between interactive elements on the page with the Tab key.
  • If expected statistics are missing, make sure the associated assignments are “Published” and not in “Draft” status. Confirm that there are submissions and wait a few minutes for the cache to expire.
