PPATEC’s new state-of-the-art training center equips technicians with hands-on experience through realistic lab environments, modern classrooms, and expert-led instruction. The 12,000+ square-foot facility will include expanded course offerings, including air conditioning, electrical (for HVAC), gas-and-oil-fired heating systems, heat pumps, ductless mini splits, HVAC installations, plumbing, and propane distribution.
Air Conditioning
PPATEC offers multiple air conditioning classes throughout the year. Our technical training courses range from one-day refresher classes to multi-day programs designed to improve skill sets for all levels of HVAC technicians. PPATEC also offers refrigerant certification for EPA 608 and A2L. Classes occur at our 12,000+ sq ft trade school, which features three classrooms and five labs. The labs are equipped with 75+ live-fire systems and simulator equipment that allow technicians to receive a wide range of hands-on training opportunities. AIR CONDITIONING LAB
Electrical HVAC
PPATEC offers various HVAC-focused electrical classes throughout the year. Our technical training courses range from one-day refresher classes to multi-day programs designed to improve the electrical skill sets of HVAC technicians. Classes occur at our 12,000+ sq ft trade school, which features three classrooms and five labs. The labs are equipped with 75+ live-fire systems and simulator equipment that allow technicians to receive a wide range of hands-on training opportunities. Gas Heat
PPATEC offers multiple gas-fired heating classes throughout the year. Our technical training courses range from one-day refresher classes to multi-day programs designed to improve skill sets for all levels of HVAC technicians. PPATEC offers training for both gas boilers and gas furnaces. Classes occur at our 12,000+ sq ft trade school, which features three classrooms and five labs. The labs are equipped with 75+ live-fire systems and simulator equipment that allow technicians to receive a wide range of hands-on training opportunities. Some highlights of our gas-fired heating classes include:
- Control boards and sequence of operation
- Gas furnace preventive maintenance and procedures
- Troubleshooting high-efficiency gas furnaces
- Heat exchanger inspection and testing
- Preventive maintenance for modulating condensing boilers and naturally vented non-condensing boilers

Oil Heat
PPATEC is the premier solution for oil heat training. Our technical training courses range from multi-day programs designed to improve skill sets for all levels of HVAC technicians who work on oil-fired heating systems. PPATEC also offers NORA certification and CEUs for NORA Bronze, NORA Silver, and NORA Gold. Classes occur at our 12,000+ sq ft trade school, which features a dedicated oil-fired lab with 15+ live fire units and simulator equipment that allow technicians to receive a wide range of hands-on training opportunities. Some highlights of our oil heat classes include:
- Hands-on training for Beckett, Carlin, and Riello oil burners
- Proper procedures for oil tanks, piping, fuel units, and oil valves
- Understanding primary controls and limit controls
- Improved technical ability for nozzles, combustion chambers, drafting, venting, combustion, ignition systems, and motors
- Performing annual maintenance on oil-fired systems

Heat Pump & Mini Splits
PPATEC offers multiple HVAC installation classes throughout the year. Our technical training courses range from one-day refresher classes to multi-day programs designed to improve skill sets for all levels of HVAC technicians. PPATEC offers training for both heat pumps and ductless mini-splits. Classes occur at our 12,000+ sq ft trade school, which features three classrooms and five labs. HVAC Installation
PPATEC offers multiple classes focused on hands-on HVAC equipment installations throughout the year. Our technical training courses are designed to improve equipment installation skill sets for all levels of HVAC technicians. PPATEC training covers the proper installation of heating, cooling, and electrical components that are key for any HVAC installation. Classes occur at our 12,000+ sq ft trade school, which features a dedicated lab for HVAC equipment installation. The wide range of hands-on training opportunities ensures technicians leave our class with a better understanding of quality installation techniques. Some highlights of our HVAC installation classes include:
- Safe removal of existing equipment
- High voltage and low voltage electrical
- Proper procedures for gas lines, venting, condensate, ductwork, and airflow
- Refrigerant recovery, flow, brazing, flushing, charging, and evacuation
- Combustion safety and efficiency testing
- Proper sensible-to-latent heat ratios
- Start-up and commissioning
Plumbing
PPATEC offers multiple plumbing classes throughout the year. Our technical training courses are designed to improve skill sets for all levels of plumbers and HVAC technicians. PPATEC also offers specific classes for water heaters, well tanks, well pumps, and water treatment. Classes occur at our 12,000+ sq ft trade school, which features a dedicated hands-on training plumbing lab with water heaters, kitchen appliances, bathroom appliances, well pumps, and water treatment equipment. Some highlights of our plumbing classes include:
- Basics of residential plumbing
- Proper plumbing procedures for water supply, drains, connections, and fittings
- Hands-on training to install, service, repair, and troubleshoot all types of water heaters
- Hands-on training to install, troubleshoot, and size well tanks/pumps
- Hands-on training for water treatment and conditioning
Propane Distribution
PPATEC offers multiple propane classes throughout the year. Our technical training courses are designed to improve skill sets for all levels of propane professionals and HVAC contractors who work on propane-fired equipment. PPATEC propane training offerings are structured based on the Propane Education & Research Council (PERC) curriculum. This covers both the existing Certified Employee Training Program (CETP) and the relevant replacement modules available for PERC Education Program (PEP). Classes occur at our 12,000+ sq ft trade school, which is the premier facility in the region for hands-on exterior and interior propane training solutions. Some highlights of our propane classes include:
