I did add a few people based on suggestions that popped up when making group. Everything is ready to go now. If you are a member in this community I will automatically add you. I will do a roll call around May in both communities to weed out inactive members. If you have any penpals outside of Postcardjunky please let them know about the community. Thanks for the response. I agree with all of your comments. I know that most of you who responded have been in this community for a decade or more. I know the majority of us are in our 30s. I am hesitant in moving to another domain. I know my main effort was to move it to something that I am more active on and can check on am app on my phone. I rarely get on the computer now a days. I have rarely had anyone want to join this community in the last few years. I think what I will do is have a trial run on Facebook. I still have until November when my account expires. I always send a welcome card out to the new people that join and to be honest the last 10 or so never responded back.

The veterans in the group I appreciate your loyalty. I have been on livejournal since you had to get a pass code from a friend in order to join. I have been on postcardjunky for so long I can't remember. Slfcllednowhere sent me my first postcard, a Welcome to Mars card. I hope Facebook might bring some more life into the community. I will make my best effort to do 6 month roll calls to weed out the in active people.

I wanted to get the Facebook account up in running before sending Christmas cards out. In these cards I will be including a postcard with what is going on and it will be required to respond back with in a 2 month period in order to still have your address in the database. I will keep both the Facebook and Livejournal accounts open until November and see how each is doing and then make a final decision.

I hope that everyone finds this fair and reasonable. Even if you are not active on one or the other the database will always be up to date and you can look for the new people added there.

More information will be coming once I get all the cards out. I will also be inviting penpals that are not part of this community so hopefully we will get more people added.

I know that I have been less than active the last few years. I am pretty sure this community is skin and bones by now. I will be conducting a role call in January. At this point, I think I will be closing out this community and my account. Don't fear! I feel that LiveJournal is not what it used to be. Like this community, it has been dying away. I know that I can't remember the last time I was on this site. I always keep it dear to my heart and in the back of my memory, but never end up getting back to it. My proposal is that we move the community to Facebook. The address book will stay the same, but I feel Facebook is live and thriving and is a good place to get new blood into the community. I plan on doing the switch close to the end of February. It may be sooner depending the response I get from everyone. I will be posting an official role call after Christmas. I will send messages and overall try to get a hold of everyone.

Everyone in the address book will receive a postcard and holiday card from me. Please respond to this whatever way you see fit. Please make sure your address is correct in the address book. Please change if wrong, but also message me so that I send it to the correct place. I have all ready printed the list, but will not send cards until I get through my families. PLEASE RESPOND through a message to me about address change.

For our new members, while accessing the database for the first time you will use your username in the username spot. Your password will be password. Don't capitalize anything while entering your username and password. Once you are in the site you can change your password to whatever you want.

Lastly, you have 2 weeks to add your info into the database or you will be deleted from the community.
