About

We may have met before on my poetry blog: Polly also known as journalread. Welcome to my special blog for this creative residency at Croome Court which started with the Soul to Sole project. I’m excited to be working with the creative team at Croome, so I’ve set up this blog to record what happens along the way. It would be lovely to have you enjoy the journey with me. I look forward to your comments.

Yippee! I have a creative residency! Here:

Croome Court, Worcestershire

I was thrilled when my application to work with the lovely peeps at Croome Court on their project ‘Soul to Sole’ was accepted. I wrote two poems, one about Anne Somerset, the wife of the 2nd Earl, and one about William Dean, the Head Gardener in the 18th century. They were displayed in the basement at Croome for over a year. Subsequently, I worked with poet Matt Windle with young poets who performed their poetry in July 2015 at a poetry slam. I continue to work with nine other Croome Poets.

You can find out more about the projects and see the Croome blog here and you can find out more about Croome Court here.

This building may feature in one of the poems… guess which one?
