Description from Goodreads:
The time has come for one winner to be crowned.
When she was chosen to compete in the Selection, America never dreamed she would find herself anywhere close to the crown—or to Prince Maxon’s heart. But as the end of the competition approaches, and the threats outside the palace walls grow more vicious, America realizes just how much she stands to lose—and how hard she’ll have to fight for the future she wants.
Review:
So far this has been the best book in the series. The One follows the last four women in the Selection – America, Elise, Kriss and Celeste. The character development in this book far exceeded my expectations compared to the first two books in the series. You learn so much more about each of the characters and their motivations. There are some very sweet moments and younger YA fans will most likely really enjoy this book.
Is there an end to the angst-ridden love triangle in sight???
Finally! America makes a decision between Maxon and Aspen. I found this particular element of the story so frustrating in the previous books. When it continued into this book I almost walked away. I’m glad I didn’t.
Overall, I enjoyed this book. It is a fast, easy read and I finished it in a few hours. I would recommend this book to fans of Kiera Cass and YA romance.
