We trust each other. When we say we’re going to do something, we do it. When one of us fails to deliver on that promise, we own it. We all make mistakes. We’re human (even if we sometimes can’t prove we’re not a robot by identifying all the buses). But we must own our mistakes AND learn from them. We don’t point fingers and blame others. Doing so would be the worst mistake of all.

We ask for what we need. From each other and clients. We over-communicate to ensure we’re 100% on the same page, even though we’re not 100% in the same physical space. We’re honest and open with how we feel about ideas. We share direct feedback and critique in the spirit of helping each other. If we prefer a certain form of communication or aren’t comfortable speaking up in a situation, we say so.

The rule on bullshit is a strict ‘no.’ We are empathetic to one another’s needs, and clear about our own feelings and ideas. We do what we say and say what we do. When confronted with challenges (and when aren’t we?) we approach them with positivity, because…

We’re thankful for the opportunity to work and learn alongside each other every week. We balance humility with a sense of purpose and action. Not everyone has a job in which they get paid to have fun making work that’s fresh, interesting and can make a difference in the world.

Play is our process. We fill our artboards and notebooks with doodles, sketches and designs. We explore. We iterate, rinse and repeat. We’re not afraid to fail hard. We’re always asking what if. This is how we get to the good stuff.
