About me

Hey! I’m Jason Cipriani. I've been a freelance technology journalist since early 2008, writing for a wide range of publications. I have bylines at CNET, Fortune, Time, Wired, Wirecutter, ZDNet, CNN Underscored, Tom’s Guide, Pocklet-lint, Bloomberg, PCWorld, IGN, Tech Radar… you get the point.

I've written thousands of stories online and in print, reviewed countless devices of all types, broke news and opined far too much.

In early 2024 I took a break from tech journalism to open a mobile wood-fired pizzeria with my wife. I loved every second of it, but I've also missed tech journalism and writing on a daily basis. So now I'm back. Part time, at least.

The original idea for my now-retired Cip's Clips newsletter was to highlight what I'd been working on that week, and maybe even mention some stuff I didn't work on. When I transitioned to opening a mobile pizzeria, I sprinkled in some pizza content, and had no more Clips to share. And so I stopped sending it out.

Fast forward to 2026 and I bought the Pixels & Pizza domain with the intent to kickstart my return to tech journalism, a way to motivate me to consistently write again, detail the trials and tribulations of owning a mobile pizzeria, and anything else I feel like tapping on my keyboard about.

If all of that sounds like something you’re interested in taking up some space in your inbox and a few minutes out of your week, please subscribe. I promise I won't abuse the privilege of having access to your inbox.
