Frequently Asked Questions

I won money at an event as a breeder and have not received my check what do I need to do?

10% of our payout goes to the breeder listed on the registration papers. If we have your contact info & W9 on file we will issue a check within 2 weeks post event.  However if we do not have your contact info & a W9 on file we cannot issue a check. It is the breeder's responsibility to contact the office and send in a W9.

Click here to see a list of breeders who have won money at our events in 2025 that we do not have a W9 on file for.  Once you email or mail us a W9 we will send you your earnings.

Money has to be claimed during the calendar year it was earned.  Any monies unclaimed by Dec 31st will go back into the pot for the following year, and can no longer be claimed.

Do I need to be checked in to exhibition?

Yes, all contestants must be checked in and have their correct hip number on the left side of their saddle pad for exhibitions. Pleae check to see when the office closes to make sure you get checked in. Our office usually closes before exhibitions have finished, so plan accordingly. If you late enter the race, you will not need a hip number to exhibition.

How do the exhibitions run?

Exhibitions will run in draw order. You will get one 45 second run through. All late entries will also get a free exhibition and can go through at the end.

What is the dress code for exhibitions versus the race?

For exhibitions, you do not need to be in western wear. For the actual race the dress code is long sleeve western shirt (zip or button), cowboy hat or helmet, and western boots.

Are there exhibitions available for purchase?

Every contestant gets a free exhibition with their entry. Due to limited time, there are not any extra for purchase.

Can I have someone check in for me?

When checking in, we have every contestant verify the draw and initial that their entry is correct and final. Once checked in, no changes can be made to your entry. If you are comfortable with someone else verifying your entry and making any changes, anyone can check you in and pick up your hip number.

Can I run in the Futurity/Derby & in the Open?

There is not an option for you to run in both the Futurity/Derby and the Open. If you enter the Futurity or the Derby, you will run in those races and your time will be carried over to the Open, as long as you enter & pay for the Open on your entry. We do allow the option to have the same horse run in the Futurity/Derby and the Open, if and only if there is a Youth rider. The Futurity/Derby rider would run in the Futurity/Derby and their time could NOT roll to the Open. Then the Youth rider would run in the Youth & their time would roll to the Open.

I can’t make it to the race, what are my options?

If your plans change or your horse gets hurt and you are unable to make it to your race, we allow you to get your entry fee back as credit on your account. There is a $150 charge to do this that will be automatically taken out of your credit. This credit will stay on your account for one year and can be used for any future entries or nominations. Be sure to check on our Race Entry page to see when the cut off date to submit your form is. No credits will be issued if the form is submitted after the deadline.

Can I make changes to my original entry?

Yes you can. We have a Change Form that must be filled out in order to make ANY change to your entry. You can change 2 of the 3 (Owner, Rider, Horse) of your original entry. There will be a $75 fee for any changes.

When can I get my check/awards?

You will be able to pick up your check about an hour after results have been posted to our website at our check in office at the race. We will also have any awards available for pick up at that time and through the rest of the week. If you are not able to pick up your check or awards before you leave, we will mail them out within 10 days of the conclusion of the race.

When do late entries run on the reverse order in the second go?

We will go in reverse order of the whole draw including late entries. Late entries will be at the beginning of the reverse order on the second go of each race.

I missed the entry deadline. Can I still enter online?

Yes. Late entries are open after our entry deadline until the Monday before our event starts. After the entries close online, you will need to enter onsite before the late entry/change deadline for the race you are entering. If entering onsite, only cash and card payments are accepted.
