About

The PIDS Foundation

The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society (PIDS) Foundation supports scientific and educational activities directed at preventing, diagnosing, and treating bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections in children. The Foundation provides the resources for medical studies in basic sciences, translational medicine, and clinical trials to generate new knowledge regarding infections and for its dissemination to physicians, scientists, epidemiologists, and allied health care professionals through educational activities for Society members and students at all levels.

By supporting the Foundation, leaders in philanthropy, pharmaceutical and biotechnology sciences, academia, and the medical community will advance our understanding of infections and their impact on children. This will create new ways to prevent infections, to diagnose infections, and to treat children worldwide with infectious diseases. These goals are synonymous with the humanitarian missions of many professional, commercial, and government organizations and place these institutions at the forefront of new initiatives in pediatric infectious disease research.
