Hi, I’m Cordelia, the person behind Phyrra.net and Phyrra on YouTube. With two decades of makeup obsession and experience, I share the best in indie beauty, pale girl beauty, and alternative gothic fashion to inspire you to explore your unique style!
I started blogging in 2008 and went cruelty-free in 2012. I’m a published author, a beauty addict, and someone who believes you should be fearlessly beautiful in your own skin. You’ll find honest reviews, how-to’s, swatch comparisons, and tips tailored specifically for fair skin, deepset eyes, and alternative aesthetics. I specialize in pale girl beauty, deepset eye makeup (formerly hooded eye makeup), cruelty-free beauty, and alternative gothic fashion, with lifestyle content woven in too. I’ve been disclosing PR, sponsored content, and affiliate links since 2009, before the FTC guidelines even existed.
In 2025 I made a big life change and relocated from Florida to the Netherlands. It’s been a wild, wonderful adventure and it’s opened up a whole new world of European indie beauty brands that I’m excited to share with you.
I published a book called Hooded Eyes Makeup Manual, available exclusively on Amazon, packed with everything I’ve learned about eye makeup for tricky lid shapes.
A little more about me: I have very fair neutral cool skin between N0 and N5, deep-set oily eyes, sensitive dry skin with rosacea, and naturally near-black hair that I color treat regularly. I’m 5’4″, petite, and curvy. I follow a low carb, low sugar, high healthy fats and high protein lifestyle. My alternative fashion style has been described as post-Modern Faerie, alternative fae, and Romantic Goth. I love spikes, studs, and Swarovski crystals. Edgy yet feminine is my forever aesthetic.
I share my home with two standard poodles, Nyx and Amaya. My first poodle and best friend Phaedra passed away unexpectedly in 2019, and I drove 2,100 miles (3,380 km) roundtrip to adopt Amaya afterward.
