Happy Easter! Since it’s been almost two years since the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse, there’s a good opportunity to continue the Tumult Hype videos and discuss what it was like to experience totality. WOW, it was amazing. As the title suggests, it felt like a religious experience. There are so many things that have to go right in the universe for an event like that to occur.

“Photics Web Guide” Progress Report
There’s a saying that’s attributed to physicist Richard Feynman, “If you want to master something, teach it.” After 30+ years of professionally creating websites, I thought I was a pretty good web developer. I worked at some major organizations in the NYC metro area, launched many successful websites, and teaching web development is part of that history. There are lots of web tutorials on this website and on the Photics.TV YouTube channel. But with the “Photics Web Guide”, it’s on a ridiculously different level.
Named CSS Colors 🎨
Happy Saint Valentine’s Day! Red is the common color of the day, but which shade of red? That’s the point of this post. First, it’s to show that there’s progress on the “Photics Web Guide”. It’s a tough project, but this might be the best Photics book yet! But while working on the CSS chapter of the book, I thought it would be cool to be able to arrange the “Named Colors” by their colors. Well, now you can do that, as the data has been organized in a sortable table.
2026 New Year’s Resolutions
Happy New Year! 🎊🥳🎉🎊 Last year did not go as expected. Not only was the Nintendo Switch 2 skipped, creating a hole in Photics.TV content, the book about web games was not completed. That’s because it was changed to a vanilla web design and web development book — The Photics Web Guide. That’s going to set the tone for 2026. That book must be completed!
A Christmas Jigsaw / Card
This is becoming something of a tradition. For the third year in a row, the 12 Days of Christmas Gift Ideas series of videos is now complete. And just as it was done last year, this year’s 12th video is a Christmas Card from Photics. The 2025 Christmas Card is a Jigsaw Puzzle. This is based on the same JavaScript code that was used to create the Photics: Jigsaw game.
