Help the tech challenged. I want to post in the old version. I've been doing that for ages. I know how to post that way and can't figure out how to use the new with links to photos, etc. Someone want to explain just how to post links to pix or vid in the new form OR how and what to change when I get to the page that supposedly lets me continue to use the old version. Keep it simple for the simple minded please.

Apologies for the long delay in updating. Had a large amount of this chapter written well over a month ago. Real-life came in like a wrecking ball (apologies to Ms. Cyrus) and prevented my completing it quickly. The capper was the finger fracture/dislocation that I’m still dealing with but have managed to learn to type around. Hence, a late but completed chapter. PROMISE the next one won’t take nearly as long to produce barring a zombie attack or the like.

Episode:“The Initiative” written by Douglas Petrie (given the situation, some slightly graphic details in chapter but nothing too terrible IMHO)

Reminder: This tale began shortly after Something Blue. The spell kicked in before Spike discovered he is capable of fighting demons. Even with all the learning taking place during the course of this magical journey, neither Buffy nor Spike know he’s not totally incapacitated when it comes to fighting. In canon, he learned he could fight and kill demons in the episode Doo

Apologies for how long it has taken to get this chapter wrangled properly. Between RL and Characters simply refusing to do what I wanted it has been like herding cats! But the long Cat Drive is at an end and I have an update. Already working on the next chapter so I’m hoping it won’t be anywhere near as long a delay in updates the next time.

A/N:
Yup, I know that in canon we did NOT see Spike watch Angel destroy the ring. I made that one tiny change to canon because I wanted a reason for Spike to have told Buffy the fate of the Gem. That will mean a slight tweak in the next chapter but the canon alterations are very minor.

In canon Spike is angrily stalking Buffy when he’s captured. But it makes no sense he would have left LA if he still thought the ring was there. Being so angry makes sense if he knows all his hard work was for nothing with the ring destroyed and being angry at the Slayer who sent the ring to Angel makes sense then.
