Hi! I am the 7th GGranddaughter of Hannah Love, as well. Her heritage is more than family folklore. Her son, Valentine, self identifited as a Native American in a Court setting.
Her other sons were referred to as Mixed.
Every time I come across Hannah Love Austin referred to as a SQUAW, I try to educate.
SQUAW is a perjorative word referring to a womans genitalia. It doesnt mean “Indian Maiden.” Please remove references to her as a SQUAW and maybe those after us will not do it.
