A NEW THEATRE

A reflective video on the design process and realisation of a new Performing Arts Centre for the International School of Uganda in Kampala, featuring a theatre at its core.

London-based architect and scenographer Andreas Skourtis and Kampala-based architect Robert Kiggundu reflect on the design process and making of the new Performing Arts Centre for the International School of Uganda in Kampala. Designed between 2016 and 2019 and officially opened in 2022, the building includes rehearsal spaces and studios for drama, visual arts, dance and music, with the New Theatre of Kampala at its heart. The project is the result of an international collaboration involving contributors from Uganda, Great Britain, Greece and South Africa.
