Cultural Architecture & Performance-Led Spatial Consultancy

I am an award-winning London-based architect, performance designer, and cultural advisor with over 25 years’ professional experience working across architecture, performance, exhibition, and cultural infrastructure.

I trained as an architect at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, alongside studies in drama at Theatre Lab Thessaloniki, and hold an MA in Theatre Design / Scenography from Wimbledon College of Arts. My professional practice was established in 2003 and was renamed and repositioned as Performing Architectures in 2013, reflecting a focused commitment to performance-led spatial practice and research.

I am currently Senior Lecturer in Performance Design and Scenography and Programme Leader of the BA (Hons) Performance Design at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, University of London, where I have taught since 2013. I also co-lead the Scenography Cluster on the MA/MFA Advanced Theatre Practice and regularly deliver invited masterclasses and advisory workshops internationally.

My professional architectural work spans large-scale cultural buildings and carefully selected smaller-scale and private projects, including the New Studio Theatre of the Athens National Theatre (Gold Medal for Best Work in Theatre Architecture and Performance Space, Prague Quadrennial 2011), the Performing Arts Centre for the International School of Uganda in Kampala, the ongoing New Theatre and Digital Museum of Ancient Tenea, as well as residential and commercial projects that explore performance, inhabitation, and the everyday use of space.

Alongside architectural commissions, I have led performance, exhibition, and spatial projects across theatres, heritage sites, urban environments, and domestic and non-theatrical settings. Selected works include Antigone at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus (Athens & Epidaurus Festival), IN[A]HABIT (Athens), The Human Voice (London), and a series of site-responsive projects engaging homes, landscapes, and everyday environments as performative spaces.

I have served as exhibition designer and national co-curator for major international platforms, including the Prague Quadrennial and exhibitions at the V&A, while also collaborating directly with artists, directors, institutions, and private clients on bespoke projects.

I am a RIBA Chartered Architect, Fellow of Advance HE, and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. I sit on the Managing Committee of the Society of British Theatre Designers and the steering committee of the Performance Design Educators Collective, and I undertake paid senior advisory and consultancy roles for cultural institutions, public bodies, independent organisations, and private clients.

Through Performing Architectures, I provide paid consultancy, design, and senior advisory services across cultural and performance-led architecture, heritage and archaeology projects, institutional strategy, higher education programme development, and selected smaller-scale and private commissions where experimental, performative, or research-driven approaches to space are central.

Enquiries are welcomed for paid consultancy, advisory, and commissioned work.
