You might have heard that we like shouting from the rooftops about the wonderful work and people – the indies, producers, and the creative – that keep our industry exciting. The loud and the quiet, the funny and the thought-provoking, the old, the new, and everything in between, hear from us and our brilliant network on our virtual rooftop…
Hunky Jesus at BFI Flare
Percy & Warren represented HUNKY JESUS, the Opening Night film at the 40th Annual BFI FLARE. It was a dream for Percy & Warren to be approached about a feature doc opening the British Film Institute (BFI)‘s legendary Flare Festival – about the annual Hunky Jesus festival in San Fran.
Beyond compliance
Accessibility in television has long been felt as being sidelined to a compliance issue. But the industry mindset is hopefully beginning to shift as networks and channels see the reward and opportunity that comes from making content with underrepresented demographics and minority groups.
Short films
Short films are popping up in the mainstream more and more. Open Netflix and they are no longer buried three clicks deep under “festival favourites.” For years, short films were viewed primarily as away to demonstrate tone, style, or directorial voice before “graduating” on to long form.
Culture Media and Sport Committee Chair Meeting
Percy & Warren is working towards a closer and more constructive working relationship with the Government’s Culture, Media and Sport Committee to better assist UK production companies and the policy landscape facing indies and producers.
Studio Identity
In 2025, total U.K. film and high-end television production spend reached £6.8 billion, the third-highest on record. Feature film expenditure climbed to $3.8 billion (up 31% year on year and the highest figure ever recorded). Across film and high-end television combined, inward investment reached $7.88 billion.
Scotland on the international stage
Supported by competitive tax incentives and institutions such as Creative Scotland, which provide funding, infrastructure and relationship-building support essential for international collaboration, Scotland has become an increasingly attractive partner for producers worldwide.
Greenlit by green
With the recent release of a new set of joint environmental guidelines under the Nordic Ecological Standard (NES), the collective of five Nordic countries (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland) has demonstrated a clear commitment to embedding sustainability across more sectors of the screen industry.
Originals for YouTube
Originals for YouTube. Do you need to develop a new slate altogether? While catalogue monetisation is now well understood, using YouTube for original production remains the great mystery for many. Yet the platform is increasingly fertile ground for new scripted and unscripted projects both short form and long form.
YouTube for Distribution
If the TV sector had its own Collins Dictionary word of the year, there’s no doubt as to what the 2025 entry would be: YouTube. From its buzzy debut at MIPCOM to dominating the conversation in most panels and editorial, the platform has shape-shifted from blackhole video bank to a central pillar of the future of content.
Looking ahead
As we approach 2026, the international production industry is once again preparing for another wave of reinvention. This year, the industry continuously pivoted to technology, budgets, strategies and global partnerships, adapting to new trends, political movements and environmental changes that impacted how we make TV and film.
